As part of the ginger family, the root develops its characteristic golden color and a complex aroma underground: warm, earthy, and slightly bitter.
Farmers cultivate turmeric in biodiverse agroforestry systems. Among trees, plants, and the natural habitats of the forest, a form of cultivation emerges that does not rely on simplification. The soil remains alive, and diversity is preserved.
After harvesting, the roots are hand-washed, cut, and gently dried. They are finely ground only shortly before shipping, close to their origin.
This keeps the journey short. And the character of the root is preserved.
